Munnings Garden Cafe Exhibition - April to October 2024

We have the opportunity to exhibit in the cafe in the grounds of the Munnings museum from April to October 2024. We will divide the 7 months into 3 stages as we did last year with the art swaping over so everyone gets a chance to exhibit. An opportunity to give some existing work an ‘outing’ and get some appreciation especially as at the Cafe you can exhibit work exhibited recently.

  • 1st Turn is 2nd April - 11th June

  • 2nd Turn is 11th June - 20th August

  • 3rd Turn is 20th August until the Museum closes in October - exhibition form available below.

  • Members can exhibit in more than one turn,

  • There is no charge to enter this exhibition,

  • commission on sold items is 20%, which is split between the cafe operator and Castle House Trust,

  • a deduction of 1.69% will be made for credit/debit card transactions.

  • there is no restriction and members can exhibit work previously exhibited at any time including recent years.

    TURN 3 - 20th August to late October 2024.

  • Please deliver your art work for Turn 3 to the Munnings cafe between 10:30am -11am on Tuesday 20th August, 2024.

DAS Winter Charity Exhibition at The Sentinel Gallery - Mon 25th November to Sun 1st December 2024.

This is an opportunity to exhibit in a professional gallery. We realised £1,725 in sales last November.  There is a cost of £320 to hire this gallery for a week, that the society cannot absorb, so there is a fee levied to enter this exhibition payable in advance.

  • a fee of £16 per member must be paid in advance by 31st March 2024,

  • plus a 20% commission on items sold, a contribution will be donated to the EACH Charity.

  • a deduction of 1.69% will be made for credit/debit card transactions.

  • Any work submitted for hanging must not have been exhibited for the last 2 years.

  • An official opening reception for the exhibition will be hosted by DAS at The Sentinel Gallery on Mon 25th Nov 2024, from 6pm to 8pm. All members are invited and are encouraged to bring family and friends

Please note that the majority of the weekly rental for this gallery contributes  towards The Rob George Foundation (RGF) which financially supports young people facing terminal illness. This was set up by the gallery owners in memory of their son.  You can read about the foundation here https://therobgeorgefoundation.co.uk/

To encourage interest from the public our Thursday session on 23rd May and our Saturday plein air day on 25th May will be dedicated to plein air painting in Dedham Village while the exhibition is taking place.  By doing so we hope to be visible in the village and be able to encourage footfall to the exhibition.
