This will be a still life session. Members are invited to bring along something for a Still Life study. The room will be set up with 2 or 3 tables for the still life subjects. Please feel free to use any medium and material.

Members’ painting session.
This week’s optional theme is to work with limited palate colours using the Zorn palette in your choice of medium. It consists of just 4 colours yellow ochre, ivory black, vermilion or light red, and titanium white. Whilst this may seem like an extremely limited range of colours, Zorn demonstrated through his paintings just what is possible with such a limited palette. This is an optional life study session. Members to pose and sketch each other for 10-15 minutes.
Members’ painting session
An optional collaborative painting session. Members to paint a section of a painting from the Landscape Rebels exhibition. Painting will be selected before hand and divided up into sections for members to paint.
We plan to spend the morning and afternoon at Ipswich’s Christchurch Mansion visiting the Landscape Rebels exhibition.

Dedham Art Society Christmas Social
An ‘Afternoon of Merrymaking’, members are asked to contribute to a collective buffet lunch, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm in the Assembly Rooms. Cold buffet lunch provided by members; followed by an optional “Christmas distraction” organised by Mary Mudd or opportunity to paint; Members show of work from 2022. Lastly an exciting new members benefit will be revealed. RSVP to Marian Jones by 25th November. Full details to follow by email.
Members’ painting together session – Talk by Derek Woodhouse Fellow member, Derek Woodhouse will share his artwork with us. After a career in steel construction, Derek turned to copper work as a hobby. Derek will share with us some of his artwork and explain his process.
Members’ painting together session - Art Challenge. Members are invited to create a miniature piece of artwork no bigger than 5 x 5 inches. Please feel free to use any subject, medium and material.
Members’ painting together session - Still life. This will be a still life session. Members are invited to bring along something for a Still Life study. The room will be set up with 2 or 3 tables for the still life subjects. Please feel free to use any medium and material.
Members’ painting together session - Embracing our wonderful coastline. This will be based in the Assembly Rooms in Dedham. Following on from Hashim’s demo from last session, this is an opportunity to produce some coastal art. Irena will share a selection of costal images from Devon and Cornwall. These costal images will be circulated by email with the reminder a few days prior to this session. On the day members are free to try Hashim’s style, use any medium, work at their own pace or work on other painting projects if they wish
