My main interest is painting and drawing figures and objects I see around me.
I like to create images of dancers and birds.
As a starting point I use photographs, sketch books, newspaper cuttings and drawings from life. I often use old photograph albums as a source of ideas.
I use a variety of methods and different types of media. For example; I sometimes include collage materials in my work. I also work in inks and watercolour. Recently I have been making images using the mono printing method, which produces interesting lines and textures.
I have attended various courses in painting, drawing, textiles and photography. I enjoy looking at the work of Edgar Degas and Laura Knight who both painted theatrical scenes. I studied Fine Art HND at Canterbury, and also gained a B.A.(Hons) in Visual Studies in 2010.
